Anyone has pix or a description of the solution used to fit the short Quick-Latch pins' bolts?

The FFR hood pins' bolts are much bigger and longer. The Quick-Latch are too short everywhere.

A part from those who used the QL's buckets, I think I have seen someone adding nuts or bolts to the QL in order to extend their reach? Or was it drilling through the FFR bolts and then fitting the QL bolts in?

The couplings? They don't have 2 different thread size so they can't match the big FFR and small QL. Would have been a good idea though.

Frank, check my build thread. I added new mounts that were higher and better positioned. This allowed me to use the quiklatch pins as the come.

I overdrilled the hole a bit to allow fine tuning. One tip is to have the pins in place but nuts not fully tightened. Then close the hood and latch it. That will set the exact pin position. Then reach under from wheel well and tighten lock nuts.

Gotcha Jeff. Sounds I'll do similar. But what did you for the top side sail pin, the one right behind the doors for the big engine cover?

I used those right behind the seats and they reached just fine.

I cut off the top of the FFR provided hood pins just below the cross hole then drilled and tapped a hole in the top to screw the Quik latch pin into. Unfortunately I don't have a good picture of it.

I copied Wayne's excellent idea. I made an aluminum bracke that bolts to the frame using the same bolts that hold the door striker to frame (had to buy longer bolts). I had to bend and twist the aluminum so it fit perfectly just inside the eng cover. Drilled a hole into the bracket and then tapped it for 3/8". Then use nylon 3/8" thumb screw. I have pics in my build thread but am on cell phone now. Let me know if you cant find.

Larry, I like your Quik-latch method!!

That's what I tried Lary but for some reason it didn't tap. Couldn't get the taper grip into the FFR pin. First time I wasn't able to tap something.

Jeff I didn't see the pix around page 21 where you got the one for the hood mount. Maybe they are many pages before, I'll dig more.

I used a piece of 1" aluminum square tubing, approx 2" in length with one end cut at a 45* angle. The end with the 45* angle was used to secure the square tube piece to the FFR mount locations and the other end was used to mount the hood pin on top of it, 1" higher from the FFR location.

Hey Frank, don't have my computer on me so doing this via phone:

The zinc coated bolt in this pic was replaced with a nylon thumb screw. I used washers to shim the bracket out to where it needed to be.

Oh Jeff I see and I remember now seeing that! You're not even using Quick-Latch around the doors. Well too bad I already have the 2 hood pins for the cover there, at 25 bucks each I'd better use them somehow. Will follow what others did and/or find something of my own on those 2.

Reducing couplers are an easy solution for all 8 pins if I can find some at reasonable price. I'll dig that. But I have plenty of ideas now that I've seen and read what you guys did, I'll be able to better put in the place what I'm more comfortable with.

Tnx a lot all!
