What a waste of a good car...
I don't see it as "waste", I see it as using a good car, good on him.
This is not sad in any way! On the contrary, I am exciting to know that this car is gonna be used as a track only car. It's the first thing I would do with it if I won the lottery. But my income is such that I cannot risk it on the track and my insurance won't cover it within 2 digits of a racetrack's zip code.
Well, if you put it that way, then yes, it isnt such a bad thing after all. Its just that the ad made it look like he was stripping the car to the bare chassis and selling everything off! Maybe i didnt read the ad right...
I saw a listing of eight parts, two already sold. It didn't seem to be getting stripped, just upgraded for track use. Have to say that one of these raced for a few years then retired will have a better use than one kept captive in a garage in the dark. Two reasons - this car will be developed and the bugs run out, and secondly, it will actually gain a reputation, good or bad - not fantasy speculation about what it could have done.
Cobras raced, crashed, and burned. Show cars never see their top end. Which is better, what do you value?
