Roadtrip eateries? Post your favorites.
Looking forward to a long summer and good food in my travels.
I'll go first--when you are travelling I-81 through Hagerstown, MD, visit:
Hempen Hill BBQ
13208 Fountain Head Plaza
Hagerstown, MD 21742-2678
(301) 797-4455
Their pulled pork will match just about any Southern BBQ I ever had in my ten years around Charlotte, NC.
So then I got to thinking like Dr. Seuss...
Mile upon mile I will travel this year;
I will need fuel and food and maybe a beer
Lobster and steak and dogs that are hot,
I want to eat them all, I want to eat the lot
But I don't want any chains, no Mickey Dees,
I want something different down in the Keys.
Maybe some chili, from the back of a wagon;
A man gets hungry slaying "The Dragon".
Show me a place around Fisherman's Wharf,
Some fresh little diner that won't make me barf
I want something local, I want something good
I want local food from your local hood.
So why don't you share--right now and right here--
Your favorite place for grub, be it a grille, or bar, or pub.

Looking for input Leaving at the beginning of June for our annual motorcycle ride. Going to be doing a New York, Central PA, West Virginia to North carolina route. Have done this general route three or four times (West Virginia is motorcycle heaven). Our general rules are "No Interstates", maximum twistiness. Days consist of: Get up, ride, get gas, ride, get lunch, ride, get gas, ride, stop, eat meat, drink beer, sleep and repeat the next day. So if any of you know of any good eateries on that general trajectory would love to know about them. Thanks
One FFR and one VFR. I like symmetry

In Rome, NY, you can find a place called "The Franklin Bar and Grill" It's been there forever. It's the best Italian food I'v had since I left Italy. The pasta in vodka sauce is killer. They also have some excellent meat dishes. I go there whenever I'm in that corner of the galexy.
