Power brakes

So is anyone planning on power brakes? I know in the Roadster world, more and more people are going to power brakes.
Whats the general consensus on this?

No on the power brakes, they were way too touchy on the S.

Mike, I'm not installing the vacuum booster because the 818 manual says:
"The 818 is 1000 lbs. lighter than the Subaru Impreza. Because of this, the power brakes are not
needed. They are very touchy if they are used. We recommend using manual brakes in the 818."

That's true, but one said (Érik?) that ABS may be touchy, that no one knew yet. So I was wondering if the power brakes are touchy maybe the ABS will as well, even though they have nothing to do with each other.

The brakes are touchy due to the vacuum assistance providing way too much pressure for a car 1,000 lbs lighter than it was designed for. ABS will work independent of vacuum assist, and gathered from a previous discussion here, will be more affected by major brake changes or stiffer lines that affect pedal feel. ABS should work fine, and soon we'll have feedback from Wayne and others who plan to use it. ABS only removes and restores pressure you and vacuum assist put into the brake system, as determined by the computer logic. Put simply, all vacuum assist gives you is a heavier foot. ABS steps in if a wheel starts to slow down faster than the others. Two separate systems. My plan is ABS, with no vacuum.

ABS works fine whether you're panic stopping on dry ground or lightly braking on snow when you might be able to call it touchy. Should be fine. The early builds will confirm or deny our thinking.

The first person to build his car with ABS will be able to provide the answer for all of us. However, I'm personally inclined to leave it off. I actually don't much like the ABS that I have on my DD's. I just don't care for the sound and the feel of it on an icy road. And it seems to me that I was always able to do reasonably well at braking before ABS became the norm. Just my opinion. Which has no real value on this issue. ABS really DOES work, of course.
