Thanks dudes. My focus is going to be on interior for now and I'll be showing it at HB with no body. I'm in between FFR carpet kit and doing it myself. It's not that much coverage right? Door panels should be fun.

Thanks frank!
Eirk, this is simply a great thread, and you and the others open discussions are really educational, and inspiring! The first time i saw the 818, my intial thought was how great an EV it would be. I simply cannot wait to watch the 818E's whip all comers! Thanks again to all those contributors to this thread and to FFR for making such a great kit available!
Hey Erik, looks good. As you know, I have the same seats, but the way I mounted mine, that would be too high, so I'm using the square bar. Can't wait to see it finished at HB.
Lee
How's the leg room? My head rests touch the roll bar cross brace, looks like yours is 3-4" ahead.

Where did you get the weld in bungs and eyebolts? And what size? I was going to make the same thing shortly.
Yeah. My seats are right in the seat area and with my battery boxes behind I put the bolts in the middle hole front and rear on the seats so it's a little more upright than I wanted but oh well. But leg room is fine. Sounds like you got yours back there with that Boyd tank! I got the threaded ends from my local welding shop but you can get them from McMaster.com. I was going to make a few more actually and sell them complete and powdercoated.
I mounted my bottom to frame, looks good
Looking good what are you going to run for air?
Probably some large tubage to the front and some electric fans. I doubt I'll ever do a heater since they draw a lot of amps. We'll see. Right now, it's just for show.
Erik,
Did you get you brakes working?
Love the dash.
Bob
Hey dudes, I got the vents off of ebay. They're from an Audi TT! And yes Bob, due to the hole in my head, I forgot to drill the hole in the pedal! They work pretty well now. Amazing how much difference that made.
google marine inline fans - I used a couple of them in my airplane. The rule brand is also on Amazon.
And you were able to take off?? Wow. They must be amazing!

With a clear bubble canopy (low wing), I fry pretty quick sitting on the tarmack. Then, once in the air, it gets cold real quick so I shut it off.

All I can say is wow. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about the finished product!

Congratulations, well deserved!!
Great Job Erik. I love the drifting video also. I wonder if mine will do that without gearing.

Congratulations on the award. However, an even heartier congratulations on your build! I have enjoyed following along.
I can't wait to see how the build continues, and see her go.
Good luck with the rest of the build.

Steve
Congratulations Erik, it was awesome seeing your car in person. Good talking to you.

Erik -
It was great to see you and your Electric 818 at HB. And congrats on that award!
Here's something electrification folks might be interested in seeing. Don "Big Daddy" Garlits is testing an electric dragster - here's a link:

Congrats, Erik. Good to see you again, and let me know when you plan the body work. I'll try to drive up to lend a hand if I can (and if you need it).
I knew this thread was good. In fact it was so good you got me building an 818e as well. The way you explained it, it makes it look easier than building a regular 818s. I'm definitely going to be using a lot of the info on this thread, THANKS!!!

I dig the video with smoke coming off the front tires during braking and it looks like there's enough torque to spin the tires coming out of the turns! Awesome!
Loved seeing the car in HB! Wish I could have talked to you myself, but you were constantly pulled and pushed by other visitors. Looks very well done and integrated. Video is great! Can't wait to see it all finished!
