    Preferred Clutch brands

Time to change out the clutch assembly on #43. What brands and models does everyone prefer? This will be paired with a 3550.

I'v tried a few, and broken a couple of them. I had a Centerforce duaql friction. I really liked it. Very smooth, held a lot of power on the track, smooth on the street, and not an exceptionally hard pedal. But, I managed to break the pressure plate.

Looking around for a stronger clutch, I bought a Ram HD. I think it's a stronger clutch, and seems to hold better than the Centerforce. The pedal is stiffer. And there's a bit of chatter when it's cold.

BUT.... it has the exact same Valeo hat as the Centerforce. I dug around in the basement and found an old Weber clutch. Sure enough, it has the exact same Valeo hat, right down to the tool marks.

AFAIK, the only clutch that comes with a better hat is the Spec clutch. From what I can tell, they make their own, and they say it's stronger.

The next time I buy a clutch, it will be a Spec 2.5 or 3.

bump to see if there is a new one that has gotten better with the power upgrades. Still need it with a Tremec 3550.

    Part Numbers would be great.

If I get my house in order...yes. Unfortunately there seem to be a lot of things I have to take care of first.
