Hey Greg, good to see you.
I was just reviewing your blog (again) on the bodywork. Getting close to spraying SS and wanted to see how you did it.
Thanks again for taking the time to document your progress.

Hey Dallas,
You are welcome. I used FFG2 but SS is about the same thing. Use a 1.8 - 2.0 mm tip, and about 23 psi at the gun while spraying with a HVLP type gun. Maybe thin with 10% acetone to reduce dry overspray. Fill the pin holes (yes there will be some) using a tooth pick or very small brush with the remaining few drops in the cup. Spray one medium coat, let it flash, then spray 1-2 more heavey coats flashing in between. I painted mine in the backyard on calm days above 65*. After you block and find the trouble spots, you can just paint those areas until you get them true. Shoot a couple of final coats and block the entire car and when you get it smooth without burn-through, you are redy for paint (or sealer then paint).
I envy you. I wish I was building another car right now
Joe, Tim, Steve, Shaun, Sten, I'm not sure where I'm going to hang out most. I really like FFCARS sine I've been there for 7 years and all...not sure I have time to post on two forums. What do you guys think about this alternative?
Greg
Greg,
Glad to see you here - I'm moving over here for now due to the ad content on the other one.
Of course it's probably just a matter of time till we're covered up with ads here too...
Mike (new login name here, but I've been in your garage )
Hey Greg. I started a "show us some pictures" thread. Since your's is the best, you need to show everyone how it's done.
Welcome Dude!!!

Thanks for the tips. I like your broomstick test, I think I'll steal... um, borrow that idea.
I envy you for having a roadster to drive.
I think the best of both worlds would be build a second one and still have the first one to be able to tool around in. We're trying not to have a deadline and just enjoy the build, but I'm really ready to hit the road in this thing!

It is nice to see that some people are keeping the same avatars, in some cases that is the only way I know who they are.

I like the fact that it is run by the Smith family. I do miss the clubhouse though. Probably will end up here. Heck, this was the first one I clicked on this morning.
