I like it!!
I like it too. With the black on black I can't exactly make out how the trunk hinge works though, making it hard to steal this idea.
Look close at the second and third pictures. It pivots at the back after taking out two 5/16 bolts and screws. Eventually it will be a quick disconnect pin. I can take closer pics if you like.

excellent job on those hinges! I'm surprised how un-obtrusive the black weather stripping is... I've had no luck finding white so it doesn't contrast. Perhaps I'll try the black and see how I feel about it!

3M Rubberized, eh? Supposed to reduce noise under the panel? For example in the wheel wells, it's supposed to reduce road/tire noise?
Audi uses a carpet in there and I planned on doing the same but it's heavy and I start to don't like that word on my build...

I'm interested to know how 3m rubberized undercoat holds up to the heat in the engine compartment, if that is what you are using. I'd think it would get soft and gummy. I want to use something like that or rhino liner on mine but weight and durability to heat are both concerns for me.
You could probably apply some heat shield wrap/foil over the 3M stuff, although I'm not sure if it would reduce the good effects of the 3M stuff.

The best I have found is Lizard Skin Ceramic spray insulation. You can brush it on as well and then paint it any color you like. Another benefit is that it is water base.
All of the bedliners I have experienced did not perform well around high engine heat
Yeah and that lizard stuff is... say, rather expensive. Couldn't see any temp rating but they do say Class A Fire Rated, which is the lowest flame spread, the one you'd want. It probably handles the heat of the engine, I guess.

Hmm if I have any issues I'll be sure to pass it on. I am trying a different epoxy to mount my trunk brackets because I guess the one I used didn't like the engine heat anD gave.

JB Weld holds up very well to heat. I had a hole poked through a bellhousing once due to a failed clutch. The hole went through to the inside of the trans. A friend told me JB would patch it and hold. I made a $20 bet that it wouldnt. I lost that bet. Held for the next two years i owned it and probably long after. Make sure you prep well.

I first let me respond on the results. the epoxy ended up breaking. To much vibration. Now to give a long overdue update. I had an engine failure and to make a long story short I am finally up and running again. The car now makes 350 to the wheels which I am more then happy with. I went ahead and ordered the gen 3 carbonfiber and it is a night and day difference. I plan on using the first gen for track days. here are a few pics after down sizing them.

Man it would be so awesome if you got somewhere close to asking. It would be a dream if I could get at least 60% of my money back when I move on to my next project..
