    Need help with simplifying the harness for my EV

    Hey guys,

    After staring at the wiring diagrams for a few days I'm still having problems trying to identify how I would use the lighting switch in the car and map it over to my basic hot rod harness I bought for the car. I basically have two flasher relays for hazard and turn and not sure If I even need to run a hazard setup. Can someone help with a simplified setup and/or help me understand what the abbreviations are for in the Lighting switch and dimmer switch? What is HF, HU, HL, E?. How about HC, TC, and EL? Nowhere in this wiring manual does it give the translation. Thanks.

    HU = Headlight Upper(High beams)
    E = earth or ground
    HL= headlight low beam
    HF = head lights flash momentary Turns off lights
    HC= ?????

    The head lights work different.
    There is always 12 volts to the bulb. You turn them on at the switch by taking the wire to ground.
    If you want to use a standard system. you should start over on this wiring.

    Found it on Nasioc (of course)

    Quote. I'm currently considering trying to put the DRL function over to the fog lites, from the low beams...over in this thread

    Some of the switch terminal designators have me stumped...

    On Dimmer & Passing Switch, there are four terminals--
    HF--Headlamp Flash, I'm guessing...energizes the hi beam relay
    HU--Upper, or high beams...completes ground path for hi beams
    HL--Low beams? doesn't show any connection on diagram, however.
    E---Earth, for ground

    On the Lighting Switch, three terminals showing--
    HC--energizes the DRL relay (completes path to ground)
    TC--?? shows no connection to anything on diagram..
    EL--connection to ground

    Any idea on the "HL" and "TC" terminals? I don't like assuming they are "unused"...automotive "pictorial" schematics always make me wonder what might have
    been left out...

    TC appears to be parking lights.
    HC may stand for headlight circuit

    HC= headlight control. This turns on the 12v positive to the headlight bulbs.

    TC off the light switch feeds FB-11 Relay.
    That feeds: Everything that lights up in the car when you turn on the lights.

    Radio
    CD illumination light
    Parking switch
