For a 2.5 Wrx do you need/ recommend swapping the oil pan? From what I can tell mine (06 Wrx tr) has the same oil pan as the still or am I incorrect?

The STI pan or Killer B pan is a must on any of the 2.0 motors. On the 2.5 WRX you only need the STI or Killer B pan, either will give better oil control. The KB pick up gets rid of the OEM pick up failures. The windage tray keep oil off the crank (no aeration and more HP) anf the KB pan controls the oil the best, adds capacity and looks great.

I bought the Killer B oil pickup for my 06 WRX about 4 years ago now. For those that aren't aware, there was a rash of oil pickup failures on stock cars where the OEM pickup tube vibrated apart. I knew 3 people locally that had the crack. I changed mine out pre-emptively.

Wayne. Your website doesn't have any products on it. I can get to the Picture Gallery, Info, and Contact pages. But clicking on the moving images of the cars or the "read more" does nothing. Is there more to your site?

Guys: The Killer B stuff is VERY nice. I have the pickup and baffle on another build and comparing the stuf side-by-side to the OEM really shows that it' worth the $.
My engine builder sells it too, so I already have it on my 818 build. But...if you need a dealer, Wayne's your guy.
Happy Monday and bringing this back to the top. If you have a 2.0, please upgrade your pan/pickup before your motor goes boom due to poor oil control and/or your pick up cracks.

+1 I just reached this conclusion... (I'm pretty slow!)

I was slow too. Not to bad to install the pieces after the engine is in, but it's even easier if you do it before hand and can flip the engine over on the stand.

Hi Wayne,
Does the STI pan buy anything over the 2006 WRX pan?
The 2006-2007 2.5L WRX and STI are nearly identical. The 2.0 pans are the ones that really need replacement as the sides slopes and the oil flows away from the pick up during hard corning.

Wayne,
I'm really considering this whole setup with an additional Accusump, but I'm still wondering if that would be enough or if a dry sump is needed for road racing. I started a thread in the R section and would love to get your input. thanks
Racing I'd dry sump it
