Found a fantastic deal on tires for the 818.

Under $60.00 per tire shipped to your door, brand new. I looked at reviews all morning. These seem almost to good to be true. I am running stock power on the next 818 so 205/40/17 front and 215/45/17 is plenty IMHO. I am fortunate enough to have a finished 818 in my garage. I have not been able to break traction on the Kumho 225/45/17 that are on this boost modified 818. I have driven it about 500 miles so far. These maxxis compound is far stickier then the Kumho.

They are Maxxis MA-Z1 (the company is more known for their motorcycle tires and truck off road tires).

PM me if you want me to get you some.

Good deal, I just ordered tires myself, or might consider it. I went with Federal 595RS-R, 215/40-17 & 255/35-18. $400 for all 4 shipped. 140 treadwear, and theyre a common trackday tire, so I think theyll be sticky enough for me. Ive always run 'name brand' rubber, like Pirelli, Conti, etc... but the 818 has limited options, and Yokos in that size are more than a grand! Good to see some other lesser known options.

Place called Todaysports out of Houston TX. $239.99 for 205/40/17 for all 4 shipped to your door. I ordered 215/45/17 for $264.00. I found the company on ebay selling the tires for more $$ and I contacted them with the intension to negotiate the price. They came down without breaking a sweat. They were going to put a package together and post on ebay at the same price as I paid. (Shipping is included in the price) but when you factor in the shipping cost, the 205 set is around $45 per tire.

BTW I have no connection to this company.

Onlinetires.com They were actually $400 plus $40 shipping, I could have saved the shipping by picking up, but didnt want to drive 100 miles up to LA!

    Kalstar,
Are the tire sizes you list a guaranteed fit on the 818? (wondering if you checked the height and width of the tire)

What width rims and offset do you recommend?

Yes these tires will fit...with ease.

I am still looking for wheel. 17x7 +40 is what I am looking for.

XXR has some nice one in 17x7 +35 if that works for you. Its what I'm using in front. Relatively cheap, too.

I've had my eye on the Konig Illusion or Lightning wheels. 40 BS on most Konig wheels.

After doing more research. The Maxxis Z1 looks to be a rebranded Goodyear GS-d3 (discontinued). Same tread pattern, same tread depth, same weigh and same 280 wear rating. Could be that they just knocked off the tire too. Either way, I ordered a set, I'll give a review once I get some miles on them.

Here is the review of the Goodyear.

Just got a call saying the front size is not in stock anywhere in the country. Cancelled the order and will look around.

I checked the eBay ad while trying to find their phone number, and came across this tidbit in both the 205/40 and 215/45 listings: "2011 Build Date"

That means these tires are already 3 years old........

Hey Kal, any word on the Maxxis? Still can't find Fed's in a 215/40-17, so I'm thinking about getting a set of Z1's.
