    INDIANA 818 Build starts 3/15/2014

received my car today . looked in good shape probably like most others had a few missing parts
such as coil springs, rivnuts, gas tank, neck, silicone needed for firewall? Car looks great and i removed the body
down to the frame. I think I will paint it red. cold out this morning only 27 degrees little to cold
in the garage. I will start on the firewall on Monday. Looking for a power rivnut tool. Anyone have one?
I saw one on the net yesterday. Note: if you are expecting a delivery of a car , Stewarts uses a 53' long
trailer and could not get down my driveway. I had a trailer and we met at my brothers farm and unloaded it
and then moved it to my garage. Just a heads up.

I have one of these rivnut tools, it uses a cordless drill to drive rivnuts really quickly
It's only disadvantage is it is quite long, even with a right angled drill

Welcome! My kit was ready in December, and I'm still waiting for the gas tank. They redesigned the gas tank for more cockpit room, and waiting for them to come in. I haven't asked for an update in a while, but they like the free shipping of outgoing kits, so I bet we're still waiting if you didn't get yours. There's plenty to do in the meantime.

I finished the firewall today. It was relatively easy compared to what i thought it might be.
my new air riveter gun helped out. started on the front a- frame installation. I spent more time looking for bolts than it took me to install the a -frames. At a stand still on the a frames due to lack of ball joints . they must be on back order. I will find something else to work on tomorrow.

started my (hanging the shifter idea) that Craig did on his great ride. all braces cut and I will assemble it tomorrow . Does any know of any problems with moving the shifter forward 5" ? i could not fit the shifter below the hump where FFR said it would go
I moved it just forward of the cross brace.

A few others have put it up there and have go-carted, so they must have had enough cable length. I was wondering that last week and looked through the build threads. Have you thought about posting pics?

I moved mine in front as well. The farther forward you go the more cable slack you have.

I love the instructions... "tap it off". Unless you have the Hammer of Thor, it takes more than a 'tap'! Getting it on was a piece of cake following Wayne's tip to use a hose clamp. You did read the tips thread, right?

Some of the engine harness, fuel lines, and clutch line will go through the firewall depending on how much you covered on the rear firewall.

Just brought my donor home today a TS the same as yours, I'm planning to use the rear drums as well. I think the stock brakes will work great for a car 1000 lbs less in weight. Do you have any updated pictures?
