    Clutch Cable

Installing the clutch cable. Where does it run in relation to the engine mount and where does the bracket mount? The manual provides no assistant or pics.

    Thanks

Mine runs in front of the headers then down to the bell housing. It runs to the outside of the engine mount. I'm not sure what bracket you are asking about. My bell housing came with a plate that goes between the bell housing and the block and it has a tab that sticks out with a whole for the clutch cable to attach to. I replaced the cable that came with the kit for one that is a couple inches longer. Provides a lot more clearance especially near the headers.

Mine has a brass colored bracket attached to the cable about midway. The out sheath of the cable seems like it is too short but the actual cable seems like it is too long when attached to the clutch quadrant and the bell house housing. It is mounted where it will currently conflict with the header and have no idea where that bracket would mount other than under the square tube perhaps. Where did you order your cable?

This image shows the bracket mid way down the cable and looks like it is the same cable as the one that comes from FF. What does it mount to?

I usually mount that bracket to the front of the engine somewhere it won't interfere with anything. Bend the bracket around as needed. The cable will come forward of the header and around under the engine mount.

I got the cable at a local auto parts store. 94 - 95 Mustang 5.0 The plastic end is smaller so I made a bushing...second photo...but you could use a large washer. I tossed the bracket that came with the cable and made a new one out of one of the FFR aluminum panels that I replaced.

Looks great! Where did you mount the bracket? I think its odd that they supply a cable that clearly doesn't work.

Works great on a Mustang which that is what the cable is made for.

I do like the bracket you made. Do you have pics of it installed?

Here is the best view...kind of a bad location to get an installed photo. Below is a link to more photos on the clutch cable and the throttle cable bracket I made.
