is there a ball park price on this?
Good Morning everyone! Lets keep the hype up! We should hear back about the exhaust soon!
Currently FFR has stated that they may be working on creating a trunk for the 818 which would cause us to take a step back from making this. The factory that would be creating the exhaust and mass producing it has received it though, and we are just waiting to give them the go ahead after hearing back from FFR.
If the design is not needing changes, what is the cost and options?
Hey everyone, here is another clip of the "closer" to final 818 exhaust. We received word back from Factory Five Racing and we have decided to still go ahead with this exhaust for now. We will having pricing very soon, and we're looking for 20 individuals to purchase the first batch! This exhaust will NOT work with FFR's new Trunk that they are developing. If you're interested in purchasing one, please send us a PM and we will get back to you ASAP!
Would this be legal in Ca with an SB100 ?
From an emissions standpoint. my understanding yes, if you classify by bodystyle (registrant's choice). Since it does not resemble a previously produced vehicle, 1960 emissions requirements are imposed. If you classify by motor, you have to keep all smog equipment intact, so it would not pass without a cat, as well as evap controls. Noise is another issue, unrelated to SB100.
I'm in CA and plan to register with SB100, but I'm doing my own exhaust since I want to exit lower and put a muffler on.
This is a no-go for New York. We require a muffler with baffles and a cat.
Once again everyone, that will be an option for the exhaust. This is just the base item itself. As we have said before, individuals will have the option of a muffler, cat, or baffle, etc, etc.
Good Morning everyone, we've gotten confirmation that the base kit (no options just the pipe) will be $399.00. We're going to start setting up 25.00 buyers!
Looking for buyers!
I'm going to wait a bit to see what the trunk option is like. More than likely I'll forego the trunk and go with this exhaust.
Hope to see people buy this exhaust. Had to forego AJW's exhaust option. Took to long to come to market. Picking up my car from the exhaust shop as we speak. Copied AJW setup with a few tweets.
I plan to do a trunk, so this won't work for me.
Sent you guys a PM.

Yeah....that didn't come out right. I thought David might have some insight into the trunk details to help Andrew out. After seeing that Andrew got pm in his many other threads, i doubt it was about the trunk details. Thank you for the clarification on what a PM is.
MOD EDIT: Removed reference to deleted post...
We are working on getting some dual tips for the system now.
This is our current semi production piece, for the "race" catless system, which will come in at about 175.00 (not 400.00).
I am hoping to obtain mountable (no welding needed) slender profile performance mufflers for the 75.00- 150.00 range, and high flow cats for the 150.00 range, but those are just estimates and subject to change so please note that.
Let us know your thoughts, email [email protected] or [email protected] for anything in relation to this, we will not be posting on this thread much with updates.
Please Note*** We plan on having the pipe all one piece for final production units rather than the welds in the provided images
Updated Specs:
Here is the race exhaust. Our most basic and affordable system.
A cat or muffler can be added as noted prior for the street system.
Extra bung for gauge accessories is standard.
304 stainless steel 3 inch system bellmouth flange with tuning will add a significant amount of power.
Direct bolt on no modifications needed.

With the changes will it now support the trunk being designed as I'm sure that will play into peoples plans?

We do not have a trunk to test so we can't confirm if it will fit with the trunk. When we originally designed the exhaust we didn't even know there would be a FFR trunk for the 818, so I believe it's safe to assume that this will probably not fit without some modification.
We will keep you updated if we do get a chance to test this with a trunk!
Andrew, the trunk is constrained by the FFR provided adapter off the turbo and a stock catted down pipe. As long as your exhaust is lower, it will fit
BTW They told me at the open house in 2012 that there would be a trunk...
