    CSX 2323 at Road America

    Hopefully one of you FIA builders will be able to use these photos. Except for the first pic, which is of the car back in the day running the Targa Florio, I took these at Road America on 7/18/14 during the Brian Redman / HAWK vintage races.

    It's always interesting to see how components are installed on a real race car. Function over form is usually the rule. I was curious about the cooling fan. Chris is that an original item from the 60s? When I saw it, I couldn't believe it was that old or from that vintage. Thanks, WEK.

    Cars restored for show or street use are usually much more "period correct." Track cars, especially ones that are still working for a living like this one, usually follow rules that allow forward and back dating to comply with certain rules that were in place "back-in-the-day." That means that if cooling fans were unrestricted at some point and the car is built to those rules, then it would be permissible to install a later fan on the car.

    Here's the CSX 2323 in Turn 6 at RA during that race... sure seems to be putting miles on it - like four per lap that day.

    Wow - those are great pictures.

    I must say it looks in great shape but very lean on the creature comforts and fit & finish - I keep forgetting this car still races.

    Puts my FFR MK4 Coyote build into perspective - I think I went overboard and I would not have it any other way. With the new UCA's my roadster handles much better and does not seem as stiff - I drive it every chance I get.
