Nope, I am not going to cut any more holes in the front fascia at least to start with. I don't think I will be having brake temp issues with the AP brakes I am using, If I do I will add some additional ducts for them.

That is at last another 2-3 weeks as it's those 10 min jobs that take 2-4 hours each

Looks great! I disagree on the more holes up front for now, easier to take away material later than to add. With an aftermarket rad and sealed ducting, can't see the need for more air. Our brakes are fed from the bottom splitter, will post new pics now that they have been cleaned up.

I never needed any brake duct holes up front either. Its a damn light car for the size of brakes. If anything, heating them up for the pads took longer (race pads).
    Thanks- Chad

Good day today crossed a few 10 minute jobs off the list, doors fit and installed and the rear wing mount is fabed up. To finish the wing mount I just need to drill the holes for the wing struts and weld on the clevis's to the chassis for the rear struts.
    IMG_2078.JPGIMG_2079.JPGIMG_2080.JPGIMG_2081.JPG

Will take a few shots of the wing mount tomorrow.

Side sails look good, glad to see you got them opened up.

Does the wing support have any vertical support, hard to tell from the picture ? Are you running the GTC300 wing ?

Hi Tony, Yes the wing mount has vertical support from the back chassis right next to the trans mount. I welded on 2 3/8 clevises the chassis and 2 clevises on the bottom of the wing mount. I am using swedged R&L hand threaded aluminum tubes with 3/8 rod ends for the struts, ordered tubes today from Speedway. I now have the rear fascia removed and will take a picture with the struts installed when they arrive. The clevises and other tabs I buy from A&A Manufacturing, great resource if you haven't used them.
I used 1" .049 Chromalloy tubing for the wing mount frame, I am happy with how light it is.
The wing is APR wing that FFR was selling with the R kit when I ordered it back in June of 2013.

I thought my rear brakes looked big. rearb.jpg

I'll see you in 2 weeks if the weather cooperates and we get the car back together.
Are you going to be ready to run?

Bob, fingers crossed on the weather, I have a good feeling we are due for a nice weekend. No the my car won't be ready, we are headed up to Minniapolis next weekend for our grandaughters 4th birthday.

Still about 30 items on the list to finish up and I have get get the car to the dyno sometime soon.

The brake rotors are only 299mm 72 vain AP rotors the AP calipers are a compition set up for a BRZ. Saves close to 9 lb a corner I will be suprised if I go through pads and rotors.

Speedway has lots of cool stuff, like this Gusset Kit/Tab Kit, 60 Piece (which I have and think is a bargain) but I just can't find anything easily. One of the worst sites to search on I have ever been on. Perhaps the thing to do is call them...

Scargo, Speedway is one of my go to places.

Chad, thanks for the tip on the Tab Zone, they are more expensive than A&A but have some stuff A&A doesn't have.

More steps forward and fewer steps backward this weekend. I believe the rear quarter fenders and rear fascia has had its final install. Now that I think about it the rear fascia will come off again to install the Zero DB Shift linkage. (Note to self add to the list)LH Side installed.JPGLS Body Install.JPG
Fuel cell and Firewall installed for the final time.
Fuel cell firewall II.JPGFuel Cell firewall.JPG
And Muffler and exhaust is finished other than the exhaust hanger.
    Exhaust with muffler.JPG
Next up finish radiator ducting and mount front splitter. Other than the first start and go kart crossing more things off than I am adding to the to do list is a really satisfying part of the project.

Mitch, looking really nice ! I feel your pain on the steps forward and at the same time steps backwards as I work on the car and don't see any real progress as a mater of fact sometimes it looks worse and like I have undone the previous weekends work.

    The side sails look great.

Have you fitted all the under the body aluminum yet ?

    Tony,
Looks like you are getting really close.
At this point in the build though more stuff is going on the car and staying on which is a great feeling. I just started on my templates for radiator inlet and exhaust sheet metal. I do have the Aluminum installed under the battery tray, I want to get the splitter and radiator ducting done before I finish the rest of the front sheet metal. I haven't even started to think about the under engine panel or diffuser, but the are on my list.

I love those 10 min job, as I wasted a day doing the windscreen, which I thought was going to be 30 min max.

Looking good on fire system, and exhaust.

Did you do anything to hold the front of the dash to the windscreen mount or did you just let it sit there between windscreen and mount ?

    Hi Tony,
Thanks it is fun watching the list shrink.
Not sure I understand your question.
I used nut plates and 10/32's to hold the windshield to the fiberglass 2 10/32's up front to the chassis. 6 10/32's and nut plates hold the front of the dash to the fiberglass with 4 10/32's under the back of the dash.
Not sure if I answered the question or added confusion.

Tony, I they don't come with the kit, I just made a template and transferred it to the aluminum and cut them out. Just made one template that works for right and left with little minor trimming.

Got some shop time today and finally decided to cross off bumpstreeing the car off the list. The front took some time but got it with .007" over 3 inches, 2" in compression 1" drupe.
the rear came right in .005 on the right rear and .008 on the left rear.
It is was closer than I expected and really no hassel. I must say I had been dreading the process not knowing what to expect, I am really pleased with the out come.
OK I have to get motivated to finish the radiator and intercooler ducting.

Thanks for the heads up on your wet sump plans Mitch.

Do you have any more details about the Killer B Oil pan? How low does it sit in the car?

What's the Saker Sportscars baffle look like? How is it better than the OEM or Killer B baffle?

It sits about 1/2" below the frame rail on my car, my JDM header is about the same. Like the Cosworth baffle the Saker baffle sandwiches between the block and pan but a simpler device compared to the Cosworth piece. The idea is to not allow the oil climb the side of the pan and fill the heads in high G corners. Emailing a few Saker owners and talking to the folks at Saker reports have been good, the Saker is capable of 1.7g + I am told. Anyway worth a try.
    EJ Oil Pan Baffle.jpg
I tried to buy one from Saker but no luck so I am making a few myself and will have it on track soon. I am logging oil pressure and temp and looking forward to seeing if the results.
As I mentioned Tony I believe is using or planning to use the Cosworth pan and baffle set up so we should be able to compare notes.

Don't know why but have been procrastinating on finish fitting and installing the hood pins for engine cover and rear deck, it is now crossed off the list.

    Thanks,
Really now I am waiting on my tires (BFG R1S) and of course the rears are back ordered until late June Early July. So I have some time to finish and tidy up some details and get it to the tuner.
