    From an article on the net;

    "Right now, the Coupe prototype is on display at Pebble Beach, but Renovo says it won’t be available to customers until 2015.
    As for price, potential buyers will be staring down a massive MSRP of $529,000. Alternative energy isn’t cheap, folks."

    Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
    Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

    I've been watching the alternative powered trend for quite a while now.

    Trends are quite interesting in the way it can change markets and industries. If left ignored, the opportunity can be capitalized by others. The folks who run Schwinn Bicycles are very familiar that they missed the whole modern double triangle mountain bike frame trend and were caught with not having a product to sell to the market and lost reputation as a leader in their field. The neat thing about it is Schwinn used their folly in their advertising quite well and was able to offer the market a good product. This page has some good info on the story ... http://www.strategy-business.com/art...7848?gko=a3bf2

    Creating a trend in the market can bring big rewards as everyone now uses touch to interact with their devices now days. A very good example of this is watching my nephew walk into the store and trying to touch the laptop screen to interact with it. He didn't want to touch the keyboard or even recognize it as in input device. It's interesting to watch behavior that isn't constrained or restricted by previous models or paradigms.

    http://renovomotors.com/the-coupe/ is a very interesting idea although definitely a "budget buster" at it's current level. It is the beginning of a trend though, and I applaud their willingness and risk taking to bring it to the market. Without talking risk, being hungry for change and learning from the experience, there can be no forward progress, and one is bound to be outdated.

    The introduction of this car makes me start to think maybe the market is staring to build momentum. With several well known manufactures now offering all electric, what stage is the market in? When will economies of scale start to bring prices down? What will be the dominant types of parts used to power cars in this market?

    This website is great at showing how people build their cars. One of the things I like most is reading about people building and customizing their cars with modifications I would never have thought of. And each person is willing to share their experience regardless if it is easy, moderate or difficult. The best part about the process is seeing others jump in and help with ideas, parts, and/or encouragement along the way.

    By the way, the cars offered by Dave and company are just fantastic! And the type 65 has styling that has lasted and will continue to last into the future.

    So whatever the future my bring, I think it will be fun and exciting to watch what people will do with this new technology.

    I would love to see Erik H build an electric Coupe - he's already done the first electric 818!
