    Registering a MK4 in Connecticut

    Hi

I'm interested in building a MK4 but I am concerned about registering it in CT. Has anyone registered one in CT yet and if so what is the process.

I don't know if it helps, but perhaps a little insight. My MK II originated in CT and still had a CT title when I bought it here in MI. The owner/builder originally worked at FF (I was told Dave Smith used to give demo rides in it to potential customers as an example of building one without going wild, but that's another story). It was titled there as a "2003 Composite" (what they deem replicas), and there's a sticker under the dash on the crossmember with a VIN. I suspect it involves an inspection and then the sticker is issued. Of course, things can change over the course of ten years, so check with the DMV (or what they call the Secretary of State here).

Thanks for the reply. I plan on going to DMV this week to find out the details.

Does anyone know about the Mass Emission compliance when registering as a replica?
