    Karen's old #28 Coupe is re-born

I was racing with NASA NW at The Ridge this weekend and had the pleasure to see the old #28 coupe in its new attire, it has had a ground up restoration including a new Coyote 5.0 engine. It was getting check out and a tune over the weekend, really really nice to see this back on the track, the owner Larry Reese has done a fantastic job.

I talked with Scott Merrill at the London Cobra Show. They have developed their own stand-alone engine control package for the Coyote at The Coupe Connection. Looks like a beautiful install on Karen's old #28 and the coupe looks lovely, as well!

The last time I saw #28, it looked like this:

Wonder if they still refer to the car as "The Warrior Queen"?

They were downloads and fine tuning of the stand-alone engine control over the weekend, all seemed to go fine. The re-arranged footbox was great, I had no issues fitting in the car my feet were situated perfectly.

It's just great that it's going to continue being out there and running hard.

I have the honor along with David Borden of supplying The pink duct tape used on the fender stripes, It started as a joke when the ffr roadster team asked us to pick up some duct tape! :-)

It looks great in its new colors! The white will really show the dirt and track grime.

Just talked with Scott Merrill today. He was very happy with the handling of the coupe, running Nitto 555 tires. He had an offroad excursion to avoid an accident on the track on Saturday, which damaged the oil pan. They replaced it and ran all day Sunday. Scott is absolutely in love with the Coyote motor with stack injection. They continued to fine tune the engine control package and it ran flawlessly all day.

That stack injection looks great on that motor.

Yes their off road adventure caused us big delays as the track was covered with oil and made a mess for our race. The pan is sitting ay too low, its only about 2" at most off the ground, sits well below the frame rails
