    Rear Suspension question

I went to install the rear suspension this weekend, and the control arms I have don't fit the frame. They came new with my donor, so I have no idea if the frame is the issue (40 mm mount) or the bushings on the rod ends (45 mm). Either way, I'm sure I'm getting either new rod ends or bushings.

Anyone know what the dimension is supposed to be?

Any suggestions on rod ends and spacers?

    Thanks
    -Steve

I remember having to grind off most of the cylindrical part of the bushing. I heard someone explain that the factory links use a washer or something and these forego use of the factory washer making up the difference with a thicker bushing. We have to grind off the difference. I have the same links.

Goldwing is da man, you have to grind them off. One of the many things to grind off, btw.

Am I over thinking this. I found this on the inter webs http://suncruisermedia.com/4WDrive/t...your-rod-ends/
What type of spacers are you using for your rod ends? I've seen pictures in various builds using safety retaining spacers, and others using plain spacers.
Don't know whether I should redo my suspension using these types of spacers. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/do...ocID=TECH00014

The retaining spacers/washers only apply to rod-ends mounted in single shear. I believe the only place they make sense on an 818 is if you're using the R lower links and then only on the outer end where they attach to the knuckle.
