    better trunk hinges

Posted a finished picture in my albums of the Mazda trunk hinges on my 33.
They give you back some trunk space, and they have gas lifts so no prop rod needed.

On my car with the fuel tank moved to the C**ra location this really helps make useable space.

The thread title why not has the rest of the story but I realized it wouldn't be good for a subject search
and since I can't find a way to change the name of a thread I figured a new one was the best answer.

Looks good. Those are very similar to the Roadster hood hinge and GTM hatch hinge.

Thanks, nice to hear it from a FF engineer See you at SEMA.

They really clean up the trunk space. First imagine a 33 fuel tank without those big notches in it then make the tank two inches shorter in height<> fill problems solved by a trunk hinge upgrade
The biggest gain for me is the lift supports instead of a prop rod, but the trunk lid did have to be stiffened for the twisting load at the hinge plate.
