I was just getting to emails this morning. It's actually the 02/03 is the 3 pin and the 04+ WRX and STi is 4 pin.

What's the best way to wire aftermarket fans? I've got an 02 harness with two fan plugs (3 wires each). Is it ok to splice the two power wires together on each fan connector to work with the 2 wire fans?
My fans only have 2 leads so I connected the grounds (obviously) and both the speed circuits into the fan hot lead. Worked perfectly -and I confirm the fans did run when the trigger was sent by the ECU during the dyno test.
