    Cooling line help

Need some help. I have a nipple coming off of the coolant fill tank that I cannot identify. I know which one is the overflow and the other one leads to the turbo. However, I apparently disconnected a hose during my teardown and now I don't know where it should be connected to. The nipple is directly opposite the connection to the turbo. Pics below. Thanks for the help. This is from a 2002 2.0 liter

I think it went to the top of the stock radiator

Can you tell me if I need to cap it or if I need to tie it in somewhere?

It either needs to connect to the top of the radiator or you can do Wanye's mod (which I recommend) that will constantly burp the system. Here's a picture of mine:

Connecting it to the top of the radiator in the front of the car does not seem like a good option. I am trying to see what you did, but it is not apparent to me. Did you tee it into the upper water intake? If so, can you tell me what you used?

Yup, tap the outlet 1/8 NPT and put in a 1/8 to hose barb nipple. I did it and bleeding the system was a breeze. When you put the nipple in, keep in mind where your turbo inlet will sit so you don't end up with the nipple pointing right at it.

I tied the top radiator burpline into the tee discussed above as well, then it constantly burps the highest point in front and back. I filled the system with the radiator raised like Wayne suggested. After that, burping was a completely automatic process. Went flawlessly.

That is a tumbler solenoid that controls the tumbler valve. I also see GBOD (green brackets of death) in the picture. Both should be deleted.
About the mod to the reservoir, I don't understand "constantly burps " when the system is a closed system.

Good information. Thanks for sharing but have on question. With this mod do you cap off the barb on radiator or what do you do on the radiator side?

Cap off the nipple on the passenger side of the radiator.

I tapped it and inserted a bolt to seal it, my original cap weathered... I was afraid that I'd lose the seal
