    Carpet, Carpet, Carpet

Since someone in my family is allergic to black, it looks like I will be doing carpet from scratch. That brings up two questions.

First, I am perfectly willing to not do again what someone else has already done. So, if someone within reasonable distance of southeastern Virginia has an uninstalled carpet set that I could come trace, that would be of great help. I understand that some trimming is required for the F5 carpet, but that won't be a problem. In the alternative, if anyone has existing carpet templates they would be willing to share, that would be just as good.

Second, also looking for recommendations for a source of good carpet material. It seems like there is a supplier on every corner, and it is hard to guess who has a quality product. It would be nice to have carpet that didn't dissolve when it gets wet, so if you have any tips here, please let me know.

Good suggestion. No auto upholstery places close, but we do have a boat upholstery shop, and they probably have similar material.

    Another good source is http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/
You can get bulk carpet yardage in a period correct 80/20 loop for reasonable prices. I've used them several times and been very happy with the product.

I got shipped 2 sets of carpet. If you'd like, I could sell you a set on the cheap that you could use as a pattern.

I bought 5 yards from these guys. I probably could have used only 4.

It was about $35.00 a yard.
