Racing Harness / Seat Belt options

There is a separate thread discussing seat belt mounts here, so I don't want to get into that.

    http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showt...-anchor-points

What I thought would be good to touch on are the various options for harnesses and what peoples experiences/thoughts on them are. Comfort, durability, fade resistance, etc.

In my roadster, I had the Simpson harness from Factory Five. It worked fine and seemed to be of high quality construction, but it did fade a bit over the years and had to be oiled occasionally to avoid locking up (not a big deal unless i forgot for a while).

I'm considering something like these for my 818S (will be used occasionally for HPDE days, but no wheel to wheel racing). Any experiences with red fading to pink? With black, fading to gray isn't such a big deal, but prefer not to end up with pink seat belts after a few years.

From what I can tell, the major brands with reasonably priced options seem to be Simpson, RaceQuip, Crow, and G-Force.

I think I'd ultimately prefer a cam-lock this time around, but am not averse to the standard latch-and-link style.

I bought G force cam lock for my 818 and use them in my F500. No complaints in my F500, not yet installed fully in my 818.

I have the g-force cam lock and I like them. This is my first harness, so I am not qualified to compare.

Our league just changed from a 2 year SFI certification to a 5 year certification on belts, mixed emotions about that, but since we don't see much sun here in the NW our belts just rot because all of the rain. I use UltraShield harness as they re-web for about half the cost, but that not be an issue if every league goes to a 5 year rule

When mine passed their date in the roadster I replaced them with the the g-force cam locks and was very happy with them
