I just finished installing the front and rear suspension on my MKIV. When I set the chassis on the floor to check ride height I found there was interference on the bottom of all four shocks.
I am using 1994 Mustang donor front suspension parts. I drilled the hole in the LCA for the lower shock mount has close to the location indicated in the manual. At ride height the tie rod overlapped the shock by almost 1/2". I redrilled the mount hole and moved the shock back.
The rear is IRS. In mounting the bottom of the shock the manual says to put the long spacer in the rear. That caused the spring hat to hit the tube in front of the shock. I looked at the IRS parts box pack list an it calls out the 1.093 spacer as BOTTOM, FRONT SPACING. I swapped the spacers and the shock cleared the tubes.
At least 1 other person has had the same problem with the front shock location using mid '90s donor parts.
I bring this to your attention so you can make adjustments to the manual.
Rick.
