Ebrake cable spindle securing clips installation

On my build I bought new ebrake cables and new backing plates for rear discs, cuz my donor had damn rear drums, so the system doesn't work the same.

Now I have to secure in place my ebrake cables in the spindle's spout housing or something. I bought the OEM clips for that spindle, but those clips just don't let themselves go in!

I used a hammer, pliers, flat screwdriver, my fingers, anything I could find but a .45 gun. It just doesn't go in and in the end it bends. Tnx I bought 4 of them and they cost a few cents or a buck.

I haven't found any "tutorial" on internet for such non-important parts of the car, but without them, the ebrake won't work well, so I have to find a way. Even my mechanic has no clue...

    Anyone has?

Maybe you put the clip in first and then shove in the cable

rotate the clip 90 degrees. I believe it goes on from the side not the top.

Oh Jesus!!! Nice catch, touch! I would never have thought about that! Tnx a lot for the totally self-explanatory picture! I will give that a try tomorrow.

I was having the same problem too. I just ordered 4 more clips expecting to use that many to get 2 to work without bending. Thanks. This forum is a very good thing.

Yes it worked! Sideways is the way to go! loll

I hesitated days before posting this thread, as I thought people would laugh at me for posting such a "stupid" installation question, I mean we do custom wiring, weld stuff, cut the frame, invent fitting solutions, even improve some FFR's own solutions, but we can't put an OEM C clip on an OEM cable. lolll I am happy at least one other person had the same problem with the clip! Makes this whole thread worth it!

Glad I could help. It was good timing as I had just put mine together early last week.

I realize I'm resurrecting a thread from the dead, but thanks for posting this... I too went through the entire tool chest trying to get that seated... I knew I was over thinking it...
