I am new to the soobie world but I was hoping to put a nice aftermarket turbo inlet pipe on my stock EJ20. But when I put the silicone hose on it seems to be blocked by the intake...? Any ideas? Suggestions?

A friend suggested I rotate the turbo

- so I started by removing my turbo and the last section of exhaust to see if I can extend and rotate the whole assembly:

I would suggest that rotating is a better solution since you do not have the same spacial constraints as the Subaru bay. That turbo inlet manifold and it's fit has always been tight and compromised, especially if you go bigger (non-stock) with the turbo or the piping.
You can also grind on the manifold a bit. That's how I got my big AP aluminum one to fit better. And I got it in there without phenolic spacers on the heads.

You probably could tweak what you have into a better fit, but getting the turbo inlet out from under there and into a cooler spot is better. While you're at it, take your air inlet to a cool spot off to the side.
When and if you rotate, just be sure to not angle the turbo shaft more than 15° (because of lubrication requirements of the CHRA)

I simply raised the whole assembly a few inches. I used 1.75x.095 tubing to build a sturdy exhaust pipe that could also hold the turbo securely. Here are some pics:

That's cool. Brilliant. Are you going with an AWIC? What do you have in mind?
Also glad to hear the the Holley fuel pickup sock will be available soon. I'd like one of those in my fuel cell.
