HELP! I have a tremac 3550 transmission . When i tilt it with the tailshaft down oil freeley runs out. I was told that there is no oil seal to stop this. Some one please out their help!:confused

I'm assuming that the driveshaft yoke is not in the transmission. The yoke seals against the tailshaft oil seal and prevents your leak - unless there is something else you haven't mentioned.

I agree. I have a Tremec TKO 500 and with the driveshaft out, you can empty the whole thing if you tip it up. There is a rubber seal that fits around the outside of the drive shaft yoke to keep fluid in when operating. In addition, the normal fluid level is below the drive shaft when everything is level.

Ummmm...I take it the driveshaft IS in the car? There should DEFINITELY be a rear oil seal on your tranny, never heard of one without.
