Marine wiper install
Finished my marine wiper set up yesterday. It's pretty slick but does take up more room under the (already crammed) dash. The motors mount to the cowl by using a spacer on the shaft. I used half inch galvanized pipe cut to length. The other side of the motor housing needs to be tapped for 1/4-20 thread (hole is already there).
Bend the rod to suit the needs, and with a counter nut/washer on the inside and an acorn nut/washer on the outside of the fire wall it completes the install.
The control unit is fairly small, and can connect up to three wiper motors. It also comes with the switch. I want to see if Ron Francis has a switch that can do the same as this one to match the rest of my switches. If not I'll mount it out of site somewhere as the modern look does not really go with the rest.

Great job John!
I had considered the marine wipers a few years ago, but could not find the control to sync the two motors at the time. I also bought a Mercury Villager rear hatch wiper motor from the Pick N'Pull, thinking of going with a single wiper like the GT40. Both options took up more room than I had. I ended up with the Lucas setup using MGB parts.
I like the reliability of yours much better.

The cost is similar to the FFR kit. I went this route because I thought i'd need them more in Maine so I sold the FFR kit.
Since moving to CA I'll probably use them less, but still its nice to have good equipment when the need arises.

Thanks for sharing that. Those are big, though. Last time I looked, the 12V controllers were gone, and they only have 24V units left. Where did you get yours and how long ago did you buy them?
See you in HB, now that you are a transplant!

Wayne,
It must have been November or so when I ordered them straight on their web site.
