    Aluminum under the radiator

    How did everyone approach the aluminum panel under the radiator since we all seemed to add a bracket because the body doesn't reach the radiator support? Did everyone cut out the rectangle in the front edge that interferes with the angle iron bracket? I'm using this panel and the CF street splitter, w/o this panel attaching some of the front inner panels is an issue

    Is there supposed to be a small panel bridging the space between the radiator and the actual frame of the car and the battery tray area? I didn't get one...

    Yes I trimmed the aluminum to fit around the bracket on both 818's I built.

    How about that space between the undertray with the optional vents and the main frame that sits at a lower level behind it? Did you just make up a piece of aluminum?

    FYI - If you use the splitter, you do not use the lower aluminum.

    Wayne, the aluminum has tabs that attach to other pieces of aluminum in the front end... and the splitter is lower confused...

    I'll play with it. Just got my wiring back from IWire, much cleaner!

    Dan, and how about the section between the under radiator and before the under tray battery? Under the steering rack, is there anything there? The splitter is too short to go that far back and the under tray battery as well.

    Mine is #25 so I don't have that piece but can easily make one, I think. If it is angled from the higher front pan down to under the battery floor then wouldn't it add a little lift? Would it be better to have a right angle or maybe a scoop throwing air up, or at least disturbing the flow before it goes under the car? I'm not an aerodynamacist, but you knew that because I can't even spell it.

    If you don't use the aluminum bottom price with the splitter, you will have to fab up another price to get air to go through the radiator, instead of around it. I used the bottom aluminum piece with my race splitter.

    I think what Dan asked was about the gap between the under-radiator panel and the under-battery panel. This is a step down of about 2.5 inches with no splitter involved. Like this:

    So the solution is to fab our own piece that has the lowest angle as possible? To prevent air from hitting a too vertical piece.
    I wonder how I can attach it to the race splitter, as the race has 2 small diffusers on each sides, so it's not a flat piece.
