    FFR 8064 is done!

I've been pretty busy with work this spring but finally got the roadster registered Friday. Everything was straight forward at the Secretary of State and I was in and out within two hours. They assigned a VIN and advised I should have plates within six weeks.

While I totally enjoyed the build process, getting out and really driving the last two days has been a blast. I even drove over to Woodward Ave. yesterday to have a burger and cruise for a while. Great conversations and lots of questions.

My dad and I drove from Michigan to Factory Five to pick up my kit in April of 2013. I would say I finished January of this year.

    Some details:
    - Ford 533 Stroker (460 based) by Ford Performance Solutions
    - Performance Automatic Super Comp w/transbrake C4
    - Hurst Quarter Stick shifter
    - Hurst line loc
    - Pro Systems 950 cfm - A1000 pump, Aeromotive filters and regulator
    - Ford 8.8, 3.27's, Eaton Detroit Truetrac
    - Speedhut - Legacy guages
    - Paint by Rick Moosekian at Motor City Solutions
    - 15" FFR Replica wheels / Goodyear Billboards

Thanks to edwardb for being very nice and answering my questions over the last two years and Mark for my first Cobra ride.

    Emmitt

    Hope you enjoy the pics:

Hey Emmitt! Thanks for the props and congratulations again on your awesome build. And thanks for the lead on the paint shop. It's always been a pleasure to talk with you, and glad to see you're getting that thing legal. SOS came to my house about a month ago with the VIN tag so I'm finally 100% legal as well. Hope to see you out there this summer.

Awesome! I'd love to see gold spinners on those black wheels. Saw it on one guys build and looked interesting.
That's a hell of an engine!

Had I gone with all black that would have been a good look (reminds me of a Backdraft). With the color combo as it is, I think it would throw things off a bit.

    Thanks for the compliments!

How did you fix the hood scoop? Can't see any fixings. Looks clean!

Can't say that I did it. Told my painter that did not want rivets so he told me that he would "glass it on".

    Thanks!

Incredible looking set of wheels ... I am looking at ghosting the stripes as you did so your photos were timely. I am thinking silver with ghosted anthracite strips to match the wheels.

    Thanks

This is probably the most minor part of the car, but I really like the tires. They have the perfect "wear" on them to really give the car an edgy look.

    Congratulations!

Wheels are powder coated, I assume? And you must have sent the exhaust out for coating as well?

    What an awesome car.

Congratulations on the fine build. That must be a ground pounding ride with that monster motor.

Yep, powder coated. Pipes and shields were sent out for coating too.

One more question on the exhaust: did you have the headers coated to match the side pipes? If not, how does the transition between the coated/uncoated surfaces look? The headers are mostly hidden so maybe it doesn't really matter...

    Thanks again.

The headers came from F5 already coated and they have the silver finish. You cannot see the transition from the exterior.

I really appreciate your compliments. I recently did an interview at the Dream Cruise last week with the car. Have a look if you are interested:
