    818 Subaru high beam?

What year Subaru high beam lights will fit into the headlight socket? My bugeye Subaru lights don't fit into the 818 headlights sockets. I guess I have to somehow source the plugs too?

The kit should have come with high beam bulbs.

I only got one set of headlights with the kit and the instructions are telling me "use Subaru high beam bulb in the Subaru socket". So for a replacment do I buy a Toyota Camry headlight? Or a Subaru headlight?

I had the same problem. I ended up going to Advance Auto and picking up bulbs for a 2006 WRX, but I think all the '04 and later use the same bulbs. I also had to buy the correct sockets to match. They seem to be readily available.

    I used these bulbs

    and these sockets

I recall someone else getting FFR to send them the bulbs and sockets for free for their 2002-based 818, but I didn't feel like waiting.

You should have the plugs on your donor harness.

    I have the same problem.
The 2002 comes with a combined highbeam/lowbeam on one plug. It doesn't fit the Camry headlights.
I was confused for a bit reading the manual, but then clued in that it was different.

The kit comes with one set of 9006 type sockets and lamps. (they only have one notch in the bulb/socket.
I just went to O'Reillys and bought another set of 9006.

The lights and sockets Buzz bought are 9005 (there are 2 notches in the socket/bulb), and they will work as long as the sockets and bulbs are both 9005.

Here's FFR's response to my high beam question. You will have to wait for shipping, about 3days.

    Hello,

I'm working on the wiring for the 818 and saw that the donors high beam bulbs should be used for the 818's high beams. However, my donor (2003 wagon) has combination bulbs that don't fit in the headlight housing. What bulbs can be used instead? Are they the same as the low beam bulbs?

    Regards,
    Josh
    Josh,
I will send you 2x Bulbs & Pigtail Connectors as they should have been in your Box 8, but I checked your paperwork & for whatever reason they weren’t listed. Sorry about that.
Thanks & I hope all else is well.
