Type 65 chassie alumunim panel cleaning

We are building a type 65 picked up April 2015, we are ready to permanently install the first of the alumunim panels as well as the foot boxes but have been unable to clean the panels to our satisfaction. We have tried multiple cleaning products as well as a couple mechanical processes, but the shadow outline of the painted numbers as well the tooling marks from the sheet manufacturing process will not come off. Our desire is to maintain the raw aluminum and apply a sealer to protect that look but not with all the scale and shadows. The marks from the metal brake to form the panels are ok but not all the other blemishes. We are into almost a month of trying to clean these panels! We would rather not paint the panels. Any success stories would be greatly appreciated, and we can get back on track. Thanks in advance father and son team build Ed & David
