    Power steering rack

Hello again, I installed an Auto Zone power steering rack onto my MK IV after installing the spacers onto the inner tie rods. I know that I'm supposed to cut 1 3/4 inches off each end but the problem is that the outer tie rods are too long, or the inners don't have enough threads. There is no room for a lock nut and when I have the wheel in the center position, the drivers side runs out of threads. I'll try to post some pics. Tell me what I'm doing wrong here. (I have not cut the inners yet)

Easy solution is to use the shorter outer tie rod ends from Breeze:

Don't cut the inners until you have these then mock it up and cut only the amount necessary.

Ok thanks. I just assumed the stock mustang outers would work. Thank you for confirming that I'm not crazy.

Can the existing outer tie rod ends be shortened/cut?

I suppose I could do that. It's pretty thick metal though, it might end up looking pretty gnarly with my sawzall skills.

I don't think you can, they aren't full threaded.
