It was also mentioned by Dave that white would be option for both front end and top for previous white bodies.
So order new front end.
Months later get front end,
fiberglass fenders together (if they are two piece),
Gel-coat seam, sand, polish,
Remove old parts, install new fenders and center section,
Rewire headlights, & turn signals,
Aim lights,
Hopefully, no changes to CF front splitter,
Done?
Can we do a group West Coast order to save on shipping? Maybe have a few of them at the next Huntington Beach Cruise-In?! That would make me go, and buy a front end and more!
I just talked to Tony and put my name in for a pre-order on the front fenders. It sounds like plans are definitely still being solidified. He mentioned they should ship FedEx freight, so nothing too crazy cost wise. I'm excited for the new front end, especially for $799 + shipping.

The seams are on the hard top. Most likely two.
Aero what number are you on the pre order list for the front end?
Ditto. Emailed and they confirmed the $799 pricing and said ordering was not yet open for upgrades.

Got it. I will email them or call. I don't want to pay for shipping twice rather have everything shipped out all at once top and front.
There has to be a seem somewhere on the new fenders because they wrap all the way down to the splitter. The old fender ended much higher. There would be no way to get the mold off the new fenders if the mold was one piece. To be clear, it sounds like a ridge, much like on all the other ffr's, not something you would need to glass together.
I was thinking more of a ridge as well. I like this idea better any ways! I wonder if they plan to include touch up paint for the full 818c orders. I also thought it would be all red maybe it will be an all black mold, or maybe there test black top they have is just a one off.
Oops, it appears that the top and fenders have seams. It was posted a while ago that the hard top had seams, in the recent post by Dave that was a response to questions about cost of the fenders that he mentioned that gelcoat will be shipped with the new fenders. The nose piece apparently has multiple pieces to be assembled.
"A few questions have been forwarded. I spoke to Nate, and the molding department can definitely make the new fenders in white. The cost of just the fenders should be finalized in the next week or so as the boys lay up panels all week to benchmark costs. If we make white panels by special request, we will include the white gel coat repair because these fenders and the new hard top both have seams which require light bodywork."
"Assemble". Multiple fiberglass pieces that you assemble together in order to make a complete a fender?

The fender comes in one piece with a joint seam which apparently will need some work. The front grill, I read somewhere comes in pieces grill mesh ect.
I wonder what kind of work. Fill up the joint? We shall see pretty soon I guess.
Who's gonna be the first...

I'll be first. I need the new end to make the hood hinges for the coupe style nose.

I would think the old hinges should work right? It is the same hood and frame. At least I am hoping that is the case.
The vertical arms will need to be changed so that they don't hit the mesh. Everything else will work.

Oh ok. Should I hold off bonding the studs into my hood then? Or do you think just arms will work. I know you can't really answer that without the new front end...so I will just wait.
My plan is to just make new arms so that I don't need to stock two different types of pieces, but I can't say for sure.

Well I'm 5th for the top and sent an email requesting that I get the front end at the same time so I can combine shipping. Hopefully your near the front of the line. Can't wait for some hinges.
I think it looks less like the Noble/Rossion and more like the Apex or GTA from RCR actually.
Nice comparison. I need those side markers on the RCR GTA.
So, has anyone been able to order the front nose yet?

I may have missed this, but is it possible to purchase the 818C body for an 818S kit already built (but without the body attached yet)? Would that be just the roof and the front/side clip?

Yes it is available. I don't believe they are releasing the front and coupe option as of yet tho for those that already have the S model. They are working on fulfilling the coupe orders. They should be soon tho. There was a preorder with deposit offered a while back by FFR.
Ah ok.. that makes sense. So to convert to the 818C from the S you would need to get the new nose and roof. That makes sense.
Since I have not yes installed my body, it sounds like I could go ahead and install the rear sides and the back, just not the top and front. I wonder if you had the 818S fully installed would it be possible to remove the old stuff and put on the new stuff? I assume there would be nothing unreversible.
Thanks Kurk818! I have been neglecting my 818 while I work on restoring my R32 GTR, and I have some time to get the body done now. Hopefully FFR will catch up on production soon and start selling the coupe and front end upgrades!
Did you ever do any fender flare work on your car?

All the parts ar supposed to be interchangeable. Also the coupe has new door frames to accommodate the power windows.
Got my 818C last week. I was pre-order #7. Still doing inventory and planning, but am lucky enough to live 10 miles from Mechie3!!
Initial impressions are pretty good, but the back-order parts page is somewhat longer than I would have expected. Looks like the fun is ready to begin!
Good to know about that back-order list. I've pushed my start date back about 6 months so I hope that is all sorted out by then. Maybe Ford Performance will have a 2.3L engine out by then :-)

Got to see this on Sunday. Initial impressions are pretty good. I like the lines better in person than in photos. Still undecided on the front grill, but I'll hold judgement until it's actually put together.

Thanks, Craig, for the roof shot. It looks cooler than I thought with ridges all the way back. Now I'm even MORE excited about getting my coupe upgrade! I saw Dave's offer of shipping now without glass but I'll wait for the glass . . . and white.
