    headlight switch issue

Ok so I did my first run today on my car and I noticed after letting my car warm up in the driveway for 20min before the run I found my head light switch on the arm was on but I have no lights on the car at all and the arm was really hot! it cooled off after shut off but I am wondering if not having any load on the light circuit (no lights) would be the cause?

    any thoughts?

It sounds like a short to me. Or possibly that the ground and power connections are mixed up. I would pop off the connectors to the lights and use a volt meter to see what voltages are where, if I were faced with the same symptoms.

What year donor do you have? The 02 and 03 are different from later years. I have an 02 so I could check the wiring on my car if you need me to.

I think I got it, for some reason I had the dash Lights wired wrong and it was feeding back thru the switch somehow, got it re wired and now the lights are working and no hot signal arm!
