Which Trans is better for 818?

Is the Forester XT or the legacy GT a better trans for the 818? Did anyone go this route? If so how did you get correct axles from FFR? Any help is most wanted, Thanks, Wallace18.

    Tom,
    I had a 04 forester XT and 06 Impreza 2.5i NA donors.
Both used the same cv joints and worked with FFR axles.

    That depends!

I assume you are talking about a 5 speed and not the 6 speed?

For a street car or a race car? If race car for AutoX, Drag Racing, or Road Racing?

Personally when I build my 818R I will use a Legacy GT 5 speed that came out of my current car when I put a JDM Forrester STI 6 speed in it.

I am going to possibly build an electric 818 similar to the one Eric Hansen built. I thought a HD unit than stock Imprezza would be best.

If you want HD go 6 speed.

I would think you'd want to match the ratios to your electric motors first. But I know nothing about tranny ratios for electirc cars.......The ratios are here:
