Question Clutch cable at the end adjustment? Fix suggestions.

Over the summer I have to adjust the clutch cable adjustment on the fire wall every so often, because it would start to not fully disengage the transmission when shifting gears. This weekend It has stretched beyond the adjustment screw and has popped out. I put it back in with about half a turn, but getting home was painful... It sounding like I was making gear soup with a side order of synchros!

I use the term stretch because that is the best way to describe how it feels to me. I am open to suggestions on how to fix this, otherwise I am going to order a stock replacement to finish out the summer.

    Thanks!

Doubt its stretching. Is there an adjuster down at the transmission that's backing off? Also the cable could be frayed somewhere causing it to unravel. I would take a close look.
