    Posting photos

Anyone having problems posting photos on a thread? In the last couple of days I get photo upload failed every time I try to upload a photo.

    upload failed

    Hi,

I'm getting a red exclamation point when I try to upload photos and when I hover my mouse over it an "upload failed" pops up. It had been working fine until this past weekend. There isn't any other description as to exactly what failed. Perhaps I've reached a limit as I've been uploading a bunch of pictures for my build thread.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.
    -Matt

I get an error if I try and upload a photo that is too large of a file. I cant remember the limit. I believe over 1.9Mb is too large.

This one loaded but any larger and I get a !

I use image optimizer software to reduce the size of files I want to post. Photobucket is no longer a good option for most folks - $400 per year to hot link is ridiculous. I upgraded for $15, just before the policy change, so I'm good for awhile.

Max image size is 1900x1900 and 2 mb.

This thread has instructions on how to use the gallery (better than uploading post attachments):

    Thanks David.

Here was the message that I was getting:

The file I tried to upload was 1024x683 pixels and 244.05KB, so not sure why it failed.

It would be nice if there was a reason given why the upload failed, rather than just saying failed.

So I took that picture that failed and in irfanview I re-saved it to the same 1024x683 pixels. The size changed a little to 222.92KB.
    And now that uploaded.

So something strange happened. At least now I have a work around.

    Thanks.
    -Matt
