    Rogers finished GTM pics

Well I picked up my car from Shane's place in Iowa last week. It was a long drive.
Shane does real good work. I dropped of my car in the go kart stage and Shane finished off the electrical, body, and paint work. Considerable fiberglass work was involved as front and rear fenders were widened to allow for 345 rear and 315 front wheels. I'm certain Shane will add some pics. Now I'm working on registration. Wish me luck.

Beautifully done car. Get ready to stop traffic and answer a bunch of "what is it" questions. You will spend as much time driving it as you will telling people about it.

I'd like to thank Roger for trusting me with his dream. This car has a ton of custom work in it....some done by Roger, some by us.....and not all of it is very noticeable...which was the intent. Like this:

He has done some really great work on the suspension on that car and it is immediately apparent when driving it. I'm very blessed to have the greatest customers I could ever ask for. Thanks Roger!

    I passed registration inspection.

The state inspector just came by and I passed. He needs to do the paperwork by next Wednesday then I get my plates. Because there is no airbag system it needed to be registered as a replica of something manufactured before airbags were mandatory. So it will be registered as a Ford GT 40 replica. The inspector was cool to work with. So I will not need emissions testing ever.

Wow. The Forum went 5 days without a post.

Then I saw Mikes (The Stig) post and I realized that I was going through post withdrawl.

So I have finished up the nose emblem from a 3d print I had made.

    Roger, That is so cool!

And I agree: The GTM forum needs to hear from the GTM members, owners, past owners, and future owners much more often. This used to one of the strongest forums (next to the Roadster forum). When I signed on, there was 1 person online. And they were a "guest". I'm glad that my post tonight, inspired you! But I have to say, your car has been giving me tons of inspiration as well.

I'm glad to see your car with the final touches that you've added. Tony gave me a finish date that he is working hard to meet. I don't want to say it out loud, for fear of jinxing it. But I can say that we're not far away from being in the paint booth again!

So it looks like I'll be driving Pandora around Charlotte by spring. I think... We'll see.

Congrats on the nose emblem. It turned out awesome!

I absolutely love your car! The dark look and wide stance really makes it menacing. Really like the custom hood emblem too!

The motor is a 670 hp LS7 built by Schwartz. The transaxle is a Porsche G50 52 rebuilt by CMS.

If I had to do it over again I would use a LS3 crate motor with a manual Graziano transaxle from an Audi R8 or Lamborgini.

What is interesting is the new C8 mid engine Corvette. It is rumered to use the Graziano S Tronic 7 speed twin clutch automatic. If they do that there will be an ECU and or TCU mated up to the Corvette engine. Have a custom harness made for the GTM chassis and have a true home built supercar. You could do that now if you wanted the 4.2 liter Audi engine and S Tronic. Measurements would need to be taken to see if it will fit.

I love the color of this car. Beautiful build. Are the hood louvers wrapped in 3m Carbon fiber Di-Noc?

This is one of Shanes creations. Pictures don't show how good it really looks. The louvers are aluminum with 1/32" real carbon fiber bonded to both sides. The edges are smoothed and painted black then clear coated. Shane, correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct, Roger. I think the CF laminate was a bit thicker than that.....don't remember exactly what it was, but I'm thinking it was closer to 1/16" so that it stays flat when bonding to the aluminum. Lots of time involved in details like that. They can't all be bonded on at once (not enough clamps and not enough room for the clamps even if we had enough clamps), so we'd do....say the LH and RH front louver one day, LH and RH second row the next day, etc.....until they were all bonded. Then, lots of time spent sanding down the excess epoxy along the edges.
