    Burnt Wire

Can anyone help me identify what this burnt wire does? It's connected to the battery cut off switch in between the drivers seat. This photo is from underneath.

    Many thanks

that's called a fusible link. you had a large short that caused it to burn. I would replace it with another length of the same wire. I don't know what it powers. Does the car run without it?

Just going by what I've seen in my wiring (it looks like it splits into a few wires in the bottom left corner), that looks like it might be the cable that goes to your alternator

If it goes nowhere you should pull it now so in the future there is no confusion what the wire is/was for.

In addition you don't want that wire shorting out against any metal nearby! It's a hazard and needs to be removed from the switch. I'd also trace the other end and delete it from the harness if it truly is "disconnected".

That's a bit scary. What David and others said, get it out of there.
