    4 cylinder 33 hot rod

    Hello
I am interested to know if anyone has built a 4 cylinder hot rod? I am interested in power level and transmission choice as well as finished weight.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

I am a Honda fan when it comes to 4 cylinders but the eco boost ford might be a little more advanced these days. I am looking for unique package, anything with good hp/cc or hp/# of weight. I suspect transmission options might be a problem.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

I have the 2.3 L ecoboost mustang. So far it's a great engine. Pulls great. It doesn't seem like that particular one is available just the 2.0 from the festa. The 6 ecoboost has much better stats and is what they are using in the Ford gt. As for transmission just make sure u don't powdercoat your frame so it will be easy to modify the mounts to fit.

I know FFR was working on a EFI harness setup for a Ford EcoBoost in the 818. Once that critical peice of the puzzle is in place for the 818, it should be a simple matter to offer something for the '33.

Any news on the EFI harness setup for a Ford EcoBoost in the 818?

Is there any talk of FFR doing any other power options?

Honesty FFR doesn't "do" anything for the power options other than providing you with engine mounts and exhaust downpipes configured for your engine and a drive shaft matched to one of the listed supported engine/transmission combinations. The rest is up to you anyway so the sky is the limit. For custom install they will delete the components you won't use from the kit.

    Ford Racing put a v-6 Ecoboost in a '33.

I saw a video of a mustang with a 4g63 motor out of a Evo. It was with a power glide I think. Those turbo 4 cylinders will easily hold 500 hp with a little build up. I have a few friends that have a lot more than that and shift at 9,000 rpm. Even in a thief Evo that weighs (I'm guessing) 3,000 lbs., they accelerate incredibly fast! There is a company that has a bolt in kit to mate the 4g63 to a th400 transmission. Good luck man. I like different ideas for these hot rods.
