I am building a 33 with a chevy 350. I had heard that I need to use a short neck waterpump. Is this correct? Please advise. Thanks. D. Sully

The frontal clearance for a short water pump versus a long one is very small, about an inch.
I cannot imagine that it would be a problem; however, I'm not building a 33 Hot Rod, but a SBC MK-4 instead.
I can tell you that you have a better selection of after market accessories with the long water pump set up.
C-2 and C-3 Corvettes all ran a short pump for a SBC application for what it is worth.
Earlier C-4's ran a short pump that was reverse rotation. (1984-1991)
Good Luck & Have A Great Build!
Hopefully you can access this youtube link that shows the length difference.
