    Did I hear correctly that factory 818R crashed?

    Anyone know if this is correct and if so any details?

    When I was at FFR on 5/21 to pickup my 818R, one of the staff did mention that they recently crashed the grey 818R. No other details were given.
    MK3.1 Roadster completed 2011
    818R built with EZ36R H6 completed 2018
    818R rebuild with a JDM Honda K24A

    That was a while back, I believe they were testing in the wet or damp/drying track at Palmar MSP. Sounded like it was a minor incident but enough to end the day.

    I was kind of hoping that one of the guys from FFR might chime in and provide some details. Even if it was minor, I am curious about the details, was it mech failure or driver error, repairable, etc. Would be nice to know and in the absence of information mind gets more curious.

    My understanding is was driver error and with changing track conditions the margin for error gets a lot smaller. Having been in the racing business in one fashion or another for 50 years now the one thing that never changes is "$hit happens in motorsports"
