    Found a new 15" wheel I am considering for my MK4

    I am toying with taking my MK4 down the route of building an externally semi-correct 65 428 Street Roadster. No side pipes, no scoop, wipers, bumpers, etc. I was looking for some wheels that looked like the original "sunburst wheels" when I actually found that Rocket is making the sunburst wheel again!

    Has anyone used these yet on a FFR? What size tires can I get on a 15x8 rear wheel?

    That's a nice wheel - very similar to the Sunburst wheels from back in the day.

    I agree, that is a sweet looking wheel! It look really good on that roadster, and if it had no scoop or sidepipes it would look even better.

    Good find!

    Look nice for a street trim, non S/C roadster but backspacing may be a bit of an issue; FFR's 8" by 15" rims use a 5" backspace however the 8" Sunbursts are only available with 3.75" or 4.5".

    Greetings;
    I too like the Sunburst wheels and agree that they look better on a "street" cobra. I took advantage of Rocket's suggestion email and asked about producing the Sunburst wheels with the same specs as FFR's 5 lug 15" wheels. The response, from the president was that they'd take it into consideration. Thanks for listening.

    How Cool, plus they have both the 4.5 & 4.75 bolt patterns so they fit Ford & Chevy bolt patterns in one wheel.
    They really look like the original Sunburst wheels on the street version of the Shelby 427 Cobras.

    If the max width is 8 inches I'd look for something else. That limits you to something like a 255 tire.
    FFR MkII, 408W, Tremec TKO 500, 2015 IRS, DA QA1s, Forte front bar, APE hardtop.

    If you wanted to do mild street car cruiser build (302 SBF) that has a period correct look,
    then 15 X 7's up front with 15 X 8's out back would look great, especially on a 289 FIA.

    225 / 60 - 15" 25.6" 9.0" Section Width
    245 / 60 - 15" 26.6" 9.8" Section Width

    Nice wheel choice. I approve of the street look too (No side pipes, no scoop, wipers, bumpers, etc), obviously
