    TKO 600 5th gear ratio

    Looking at the TKO 600
    I notice the M-7003-R58C has a 5th gear ratio of .82,
    the M-7003-R58H has a ratio of .68.

    I will be running the Coyote with a 3.55 in the rear end. It seems like for 5th gear the .68 would be preferable for the lower RPM. I am not very well educated on this. Any good reason to go with the .82 5th gear?

    .68 would be ideal for your combination.

    Changed mine a couple of weeks ago from .82 to the .64 and am very pleased with the results. Lower RPMs on the top gear and much quieter. The Coyote pulls very well in 5th gear from an idle up.

    More discussion on this subject from a recent thread: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showt...-82-OD-TKO-600. I'm going with the .64 on my Anniversary build with the 3.55 center section and Coyote.

    I see the part numbers you referenced are the Ford Racing ones. The actual Tremec part numbers are probably a little more common and the same exact parts:

    TCET4617 = TKO600 .82 final drive
    TCET5008 = TKO600 .64 final drive

    Paul I was curios about the part numbers. The one I referenced was definitely .68 vs the .64 I see everywhere else. Was wondering about the difference?

    Pretty sure that's a mistake. Even the picture many sites show of the Ford Racing M-7003-R58H is an old version. Not the somewhat newer one with the red plate on the rear shifter. This was discussed in a recent thread on corral.net. The Tremec information is what you would get in either case. As I understand, the Ford Racing part is the same exact thing -- box, label, everything -- as the Tremec TKO just with the Ford Racing label added to the box.

    For the record, even if the .68 versus .64 were real, you would not be able to tell the difference.

    I can confirm that the Ford Racing M-7003-R58H is a TCET-5008. I purchased the Ford Racing M-7003-R58H and its a Tremec box with a Ford Racing label slapped over the Tremec label. That is it. The metal tag on the transmission says TCET-5008. Made sense for me on the west coast as Ford Racing has free shipping and the price is the same for these things everywhere.
