Certainly does sound like a rev limiter. What tuning solution do you have?

Stock at this time, could it have gone into limp mode ? Could it be too cold and needs to get up to a certian temp before it can go over 5 ?

Tony, are you leaving it stock or planning on tuning it with an accessport or rom raider? Either of those tools can look up what the rev limit is set to in the the ECU. Also, you're running the JDM ECU right?

I'm running the JDM ECU, I looked at the ECU (through RR) and in Misc-Thresholds the Rev Limit (Fuel Out) is on above 8200 and off below 8000, this was the only RPM limit I could find

Maybe I'm hittig hitting boost cut, and the wastegate arm might be hitting frame, I have to look at that tonight but not sure that would cause this issue

The speedo says zero so it looks like you are just revving in neutral. I don't think there is any boost going on with no load. It may be a fail safe in the tune that says with no load to stop the rpms at 5500 so you don't over rev accidentally while sitting still. Does it do this when you are driving?
