    Wipers

Hi folks, my MKIV is already titled and registered so the officer that did the inspection obviously didn't catch it but I don't have wipers. I'm pretty sure Indiana requires them so I'm concerned about getting pulled over without them. I don't really want to pay $500 for the FFR wiper kit, does anyone know if there is a way to just get some wiper arms/blades and attach them to the body without the motor and linkage? I'm never going to use them and dont even have a switch to turn them on. Just want to be compliant.

    Have you considered Manual Wipers?
There are several options available on the web for under 50 bucks.
I don't have any fist hand knowledge on which one works best but you might do some research in that direction.

If the inspector didn't catch it I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm in Illinois, which requires a front license plate. My car had a bracket in place during the inspection and it was gone by the time the inspector was five minutes down the road. No issue since... likely the same result if you drive without wipers.

But, if you do get caught in the rain and have an accident, you may end up with a citation.

In PA wipers are required and I installed them. Later, my inspection center thought they were not mandatory and would have passed the car without them. He said that there is a provision in the PA auto code that says if the original was not so equipped then the replica need not be. I have not been able to confirm this but there may be a similar law in Indiana that makes you exempt. Might be worth checking.
Mk4 Roadster, Picked up complete kit 8/22/14. Most FFR options except Wilwood brakes and IRS. First start 11/11/14. Go-kart 3/8/15. 347 Stroker, TKO 500, 3-link/3.27 rear. PA street legal 7/29/15.

You can buy the wiper wheel boxes, bezels and wiper arms from **********. No need to buy the other parts, if all you want is "visual" wipers.

Exactly. You may want to anchor the pivot shaft somehow to the wheel box, so when at speed the wind wont cause them to flap around..Maybe just jam the gear with a piece of wood, or something.
