I personally love when FFR introduces new and innovative stuff - it all combines to make them the great company they are and ensure their longevity.

My guess is...with the 2015 changes to the Motor Vehicle Act for small production manufacturers, FFR will start offering turnkey models with powertrain installed with a legal VIN. Companies are limited to 325 units per year. A perfect segway for FFR.

I think that the coupe is going to get a major overhaul, complete foot box redesign narrower tranny tunnel and narrower door sills and bigger doors,
The new foot boxes will be optimized for the coyote and variants and the motor and forward frame tube will be pushed forward a bunch to improve balance and cockpit space. I remember Dave at the open house a few years ago(same year they unveiled the 818) saying the coupe chassis is way under utilized. And I also have heard him say several time's that the coupe is his favorite car to drive.
All things that could have or should have been done when they did the gen2.

The coupe over haul will likely include more engine options like an ls and maybe eco boost v6/i4

And we will see a eco boost i4 or v6 version of the 818 maybe even be an exo skeletal version.

Hearing that there could be a new version is exciting, so that makes me all the more interested in the reveal and picking apart the car to see all the changes they made. If people said the coupe was staying the same, I'd personally be a lot less interested in the reveals.
If a totally new Type-65 really is on the way, then I'd suggest waiting to place my order.
I dragged my feet and the MK-4 came out and then had some nice changes prior to my car being ordered.
I can only imagine that if a new Type-65 is about to come out, it is likely light years ahead of what is being produced today.

Maybe an LS for the MK-4/FIA and the Type-65, but I doubt any other dark side power plants will be offered, but you are far more in the know that this Black Sheep Builder.
    I'm still voting for a Type-65 with functional windows or a 33 Hot-Rod Truck and/or Woodie.
Anything they offer I'm sure will be cool.

Jeff, someone else hinted about that on facebook almost 9 months ago. Exciting stuff, wondering what the premium price will be?

I was thinking it might be a turnkey sale of the 818E. FFR did get licensing to build complete cars. They have roof top solar. Mass. is going carbon neutral. Never know...

Very cool Dave! She looks great!

Feel free to now spill any details about the rumored Type 65 I'm anxiously awaiting SEMA to hear confirmation and then be ready to order my dream project.

All steel 33?? Guess I'll have to get the blown 492 parts to the shop. Let's see...it will have to be all iron, no billet, dual Carter wcfb's, iron torqueflite or hydro stick, some whitewall slicks, hmmm.

WOW.... Just add some shorty exhausts, whitewalls, a ragtop, a sweet blower just peeking out of the the hood, and a wicked, wicked paint job... I'm drooling, imagining a slicked up and drop dead gorgeous '33 Bonneville flats racer. Great job FFR....I can't wait to find out the cost and availability.. WOW!

@Gumball ^so very true. It looks better than ever and fixes some areas I had already contemplated changing the fiberglass on the Gen 2 kit. The new chassis design looks much improved too so I'm sure the handling is as great as they say. Now that will let me focus on the mechanical aspects that I love to do.

I agree with their statement that the $1000 price increase is worth it, but now I really need (ok, just really want) @Dave Smith to extend the 50/50 sale to the Gen 3 to get the options like the IRS, A/C, and gauges I want. Granted, I will send him a check today with the full purchase dollar amount of my order if he'd go for it just to prove I'm ready to back up my words

I was looking toward to seeing the 33 and Coupe in Vegas after finding out this past spring. But life got in the way. It's really a smart move to draw in the Rodders that won't build a "plastic" bodied car even though their Ford has a Chevy engine under the hood.
    Smart move FFR!

Just got confirmation from Dave Lindsey via email: Sadly the Gen 3 Coupe does not have any offers at the moment.

I just can't justify to myself the cost difference between half off a lot of options vs. no discount and an additional $1000 for the new kit. While I'm a little disappointed, I totally understand their position and wish well to anyone who's able to get a Gen 3 in the near future! They've got a winner on their hands and I'll keep working hard and saving to make sure I can join the FFR family

Where will you source the engine? I have also wondered about this option, but no mention since the Power Block build. My research indicates that subarugears.com has a Subaru to engine adapter.
